EcoPilot

Efficient sailing for scheduled vessels!

The Shiptec EcoPilot is a world first. The first assistance system specifically for ships in scheduled operation.

A complex algorithm uses artificial intelligence and a wealth of experience to calculate the optimum driving style in real time.

What is EcoPilot?

EcoPilot is an assistance system for increasing the efficiency of ships in scheduled operations

Why EcoPilot?

Do not save fuel, but also reduce your operational costs

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Shiptec EcoPilot

Shiptec EcoPilot was designed as an assistance system for the professional use of course vessels and is the ideal complement to EcoLog.

A complex algorithm calculates the currently most efficient sailing speed and then visualises this for the skipper in real-time using a simple and intuitive display.

With the help of this innovative system, the scheduled vessel can be optimally operated and an average of 15% fuel or energy can be saved.

Your benefit

Swiss punctuality to increase efficiency

A skipper's experience is crucial for safety. But also the operation benefits when the skipper and crew anticipate the time they need to be at the next station to cushion passenger frequencies or when the mooring manoeuvre becomes more difficult. EcoPilot combines the skipper's experience with real-time data and calculates the ideal sailing profile in a comprehensible and reliable way to make their course operation as efficient as possible.

EcoPilot integrates a given sailing plan with the characteristics of your vessels and external conditions such as passenger frequency, wind or current. The complex algorithm is based on state-of-the-art technologies, including machine learning, to calculate the best sailing profile. All relevant influences such as slow speed zones, manoeuvring times and stopping times are taken into account. The passenger frequencies at the individual stations are also predicted by the system and integrated into the calculation.

The timetable is often a rigid construct due to the many connecting services and other boundary conditions. EcoPilot allows the most efficient driving style to be achieved under the given restrictions.

FAQ

How much does the EcoPilot cost?

The EcoPilot is available as a subscription model, with the clear aim that the subscription fees are significantly lower than the resulting financial savings from the system.

Is the EcoPilot something for my fleet?

EcoPilot can be used for all ships with a fixed arrival time at a destination. In addition to scheduled ships and ferries, this also includes all other ships with a predefined route and a desired arrival time.

Modified versions of EcoPilot can also be realised for many other applications.

We would be happy to offer you a solution that is precisely tailored to your ships.

What are the basic requirements for using the EcoPilot?

The EcoPilot is based on the EcoLog measuring system. All ships that can be equipped with an EcoLog are EcoPilot compatible.

The algorithm is based on defined data of the desired arrival times (e.g. a timetable) and the route to be travelled.

Does the EcoPilot require an internet connection?

No, EcoPilot runs locally on the ship and does not require an internet connection. However, an Internet connection is required to view the data in real time from shore. This is usually provided by Shiptec EcoLog.

Border crossings are also no problem.

I need a customised solution

No problem. We are happy to customise our products to your needs. For example, we can connect different displays or acoustic indicators. We will be happy to work with you to develop the right solution.
