We believe in safe and emission-free inland shipping. That is why we are doing everything we can - and have been for a long time. From the first ships in lightweight construction (MS Mythen, 1931) to purely electric and diesel-electric hybrid ships and drive systems in retrofit (from 2012) to the first climate-neutral passenger ship in Switzerland (MS Diamant, 2017), being based on intensive simulations and optimisations of the hull and air conditioning technology.
Digitalisation is another means of increasing efficiency. Together with our customers throughout Europe, we are embarking on a journey from data acquisition to autonomous ships. Each step also makes your ship operations more efficient, safer and more resilient.

The power of data
Shiptec AG has been using remote monitoring to check its hybrid systems for many years. The propulsion systems can be analysed in real time and regardless of location, which enables optimal maintenance planning. The company's own MS Bürgenstock and MS Diamant, for example, were equipped with a measurement system when they were commissioned in 2018. Since then, the development of digital products has continued.
Based on this extended experience Shiptec has developed the EcoLog measuring system. This system can be retrofitted to any ship, paving the way for digitalisation. The collected data serves as the basis for a comprehensive potential analysis and ultimately contributes to increasing the efficiency of ship operations.
Digitalisation therefore offers an additional approach to reducing emissions and increasing efficiency in shipping.

Research & Development
The in-house research and development department, which has its own research vessel, works with our customers to drive innovative solutions to the forefront. In addition to the development of various digital solutions, research is also being conducted into autonomous systems. All technologies are tested extensively on our own research vessel before being subjected to a further endurance test on ships in operation.
