FS Horgen - in new splendour

The ferry Horgen was given a new coat of paint by Shiptec employees in the shipyard in Zurich Wollishofen over a period of just under three weeks in the summer of 2023. For this purpose, the hull of the ferry was sandblasted and recoated in several work steps. This procedure is carried out on Lake Zurich ferries approximately every seven years. 

The reason: a ferry is in motion 16 hours a day.

Interesting: Because ferries never turn around and always travel in the same position across the lake, the southern part accumulates more vegetation than the northern part because of the sunlight.
