LS Rhodania - Replacing steel sheets in the rubble trough
Welding performance on Lake Geneva
Since the beginning of the year, our shipbuilding locksmiths have been working in Bouveret to replace the wear plates of the trough on the cargo ship Rhodania owned by Sagrave SA.
The big challenge is to carry out the work on the floating ship. The area of the ship's hull was covered with a large tent so that the workplace is protected from the weather.
To ensure that the ship does not lose its shape, the high-strength wear plates have to be replaced segment by segment. 75m2 of prefabricated floor plates and 125m2 of side walls including drainage channel, pump boxes and deck hatches are being installed.
The work is still in progress. The LS Rhodania will be available again to Sagrave SA by the end of March at the latest.
